Family Guidance/Coaching

Coaching for families as they navigate the unique character and ever-changing abilities of the person with dementia. This includes ways to enhance communication, re-direct focus, answer awkward questions, managing difficult behaviors, bathing resistance, and any number of other issues of care. Also reviewing circumstances and decisions as regarding when to place a loved one in long term care. Or, exploring creative, affordable solutions for in-home care.



In-service programs for facility staff

We can provide informational, creative and interactive in-service programs to help staff understand and effectively care for residents with dementia. Topic options include: Managing difficult behaviors, toileting, bathing, wandering, or focusing on a comprehensive care plan for a selected resident. We can also provide a variety of programs for the family/primary caregivers of facility residents.


Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care Seminar

This 8-hour course provides a foundational overview of Dementia and Dementia care:

Dementia curriculum includes: Overview of dementia, diagnosis, prognosis, treatment, communication, feelings, depression, repetitive behaviors, paranoia, hallucinations, wandering, hoarding, aggressive behaviors, catastrophic reactions, intimacy, sexuality, personal care, bathing, dressing, toileting, nutrition, pain, activities, environment, staff and family support, diversity, cultural competence, spiritual care, end of life issues.
Who should attend? All health care professionals, front line staff, CNAs, home health aides, activity professionals, social workers, nurses, rehab professionals, administrators, Dementia Unit Managers and or Supervisors who provide direct supervision of a dementia unit, or anyone who works with dementia clients in all health care and home care settings.

This course is approved by CMS through the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners


Community Education

Available for educational talks for community groups. This could include civic organizations, churches, senior living apartment, community centers, etc..
